Sheila Pemberton, Sales Representative for Crisis Restraint has been an educator for the past forty years. Her most current experience has been in Education Administration. Sheila was a Special Education Director for Overton County Schools for over twenty years. Her other educational experience include, time as a classroom teacher, a guidance counselor, a resource teacher and presently an Adjunct Professor for Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tennessee. Sheila has been involved in special education programs in both Tennessee and Ohio.
Sheila understands the day to day stress that Special Education personnel encounter. Having been there herself, she knows that expert training in many areas bring a sense of professionalism and the feeling of doing what is right for all kids.
Sheila is a native Tennessean. Although she likes to travel, she says there is no place like home and home is Tennessee!! She loves spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies consist of boating on beautiful Dale Hollow Lake, located in rural northern Middle Tennessee; reading; riding 4-wheelers and of course, taking care of her grandchildren.

Matt began his education at Tennessee Tech University on a football scholarship. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education in 1986. During this time, he developed a passion for kinesiology and the study of the physiology of exercise. Matt added a Master of Arts Degree in Administration and Supervision in the spring of 1998. After moving into a position in administration, Matt decided to complete his Educational Specialists Degree in Instructional Leadership.
Matt has enjoyed a successful career in education in the public schools for over a quarter century. He has served in many capacities ranging from classroom teacher to Director of Schools. During these twenty–six years he has served as the coach of state championship football teams, chair of the student disciplinary authority, administrator over student discipline, and the truancy officer for the county school system.
Matt’s extensive experience in the public school system, along with his in-depth studies completed during those twenty-six years, lead to his authoring two books. His first book was the instruction manual “Certified Restraint Training” which was adopted and used in the trainings of Certified Restraint Training LLC. His second book ,“The Handbook Reference Guide to De-escalation Techniques and Strategies,” is a desk top reference guide written to provide information that can easily be accessed in an emergency situation.
Through his many years of extensive athletic participation and study, Matt developed the basis for Certified Restraint Training’s restraint maneuvers. Drawing on his study of kinesiology, he designed these restraints to safely restrain dangerous individuals.
Matt continues to work and study strength, exercise and movement. He received his black belt in Tae Kwon Do several years ago. He remains active and competes in many martial arts tournaments.
